I definitely should have discussed this previously. But.
When we cook together, the aim is to have more food than what can be eaten on that day. I want us to have leftovers. But we do need to consider storage.
Short Term Storage
If you will devour everything before the week is out, slam it into any old thing that’ll seal airtight(ish). Disused takeaway containers. Empty Tostito salsa jars. Ziploc bags? Pop that container in the fridge. The interior. Not the door.
I will be using quart mason jars. Wide mouth. The blue funnel on this set works great at guiding the food to the jar with minimal mess.
Long Term Storage
Freezing. Oh freezing leftovers is great.
My favorite way to freeze is Ziploc bags, squeeze out all the air. Smoosh it flat between pieces of cardboard. They can be stood upright once they are frozen. Or continuously stored flat.
If you have large, extended storage, I like the Souper cubes and no-name jumbo ice trays. They work well for storing serving sized cubes.
Be sure to use your Kitchen Sharpie to properly label whatever leftovers you do have storage!

What are you going to put your leftovers in?
